One of San Diego's better steakhouses, Rainwater's actually shows up on ICA's Top Ten (one of those steakhouses rating guides you find in travel magazines). It isn't as good as the Met in Seattle, but then, it's a lot closer. Good wine selection too. Nothing really stands out above the rest (we tried prime rib, porterhouse and New York strip cuts), but all of it is good. The place gets busy so reservations are recommended.

I was introduced to Rubio's many years ago by some UCSD friends and remember the idea of eating a fish taco was intriguing. And tasty. It's not the best fish taco joint, but it's a good place to start the fish taco experience. And they do have cool t-shirts ...
